Welcome

As if I wasn't already nerdy enough, now this. It will hopefully serve both as a personal journal and as a way for my mother and that one other person who cares to keep track of me without having to bother emailing them. I'm taking my Blackberry along with me in order to author posts which will hopefully be an ideal way to fill up time on planes, trains, magic carpets etc. I hear data is cheap if you don't live in Canada...

For a brief overview of my trip: I am departing April 1st from YVR and returning August 17th. April will be spent in Nepal, thereafter a week or two in the Netherlands, and the bulk of May, June, and July will be spent in South America. I'll be in Toronto for a couple of weeks from August 4th-17th going to weddings and stuff.

I bought a round-the-world ticket using the Aeroplan points that I accumulated while traveling for Radient on business the last couple of years, so I guess all those lonely nights by the train tracks in Oshawa were worth it in the end.

So those are the broad brush strokes. Next update I hope to have arrived safely in Kathmandu after something like 3 days of flying past the IDL. It shouldn't be too bad however; I forgot to mention that I'm flying business class the whole way!
